Businiess name:  Gruene Onion Grill

Review content:
I have to say that this was one of the best dining experiences I've had in quite awhile. I arbitrarily picked Gruene Onion Grill off of city search on the last evening I was staying in New Braunfels, and to say I was pleasantly shocked is an under statement. All of the food right around or under 20 dollars (about the same I paid for horrible food in San Antonio the night before), and it was excellent. The group of friends I went there with are definitely not accustomed to the menu thats there (it has a 4 star feel with a real life chef that creates the dishes) so the majority of them ordered the same thing I did: the seared duck in peanut sauce. One of the friends I went to eat with said it far better than I could here, so I'll qoute verbatim: ""I wish I could eat this sauce on everything I eat for the rest of my life"". The appetizer I chose were the baccon wrapped stuffed jalapenos, which were delicious, but were too hot for some of the pansies in my party (even I myself, an avid jalapeno eater, thought they were a bit warm...they're fresh, not canned). Green Onion Grill has an extensive wine list, sure to please any wine snob traveling there, but certainly not daunting for the average person. The staff was quick and curteous, and were knowledgable about the wine list in order to help those that arent. The deserts were outstanding. The cheesecake and chocolate mousse were excellent, but the peanut butter pie was simply amazing. I can't reccomend this place enough, and honestly, I'm thinking of driving back just to eat there again. Its very convienant for those that stay in gruene and definitely those that stay near schlitterbahn. Just a totally amazing experience. Pros: Great food, great price, great service, a lounge in case you must be wait to be seated Cons: For the area its in, its not totally kid friendly.
