Review content:
The building is easy to miss if you're not careful, but the food is worth seeking out this little slice of Mexico in Metro Detroit. The food is comparable to the taquerias and restaurants I frequented while living in San Antonio, TX. Hot chips and fresh salsa (easily the best in Detroit) are served before the meal, but watch out! It's easy to fill up on these outstanding appetizers. Here's a tip: sprinkle the salt/paprika/spice mix onto the chips for extra flavor -- just like in Mexico. I've sampled numerous items from the menu, but as a fajita and taco fan, I prefer the steak fajitas and tacos al carbon. The waitstaff are friendly and accommodating and the intimate, but brightly decorated dining room, make for an enjoyable experience. The only downside is their lack of a liquor license. Cold beer or a margarita would be the perfect complement to a New Mexico meal. However, if you let that deter you, you'll miss out on one of the best kept dining secrets in the area.
Pros: Best Mexican food in Detroit. Great chips, fresh salsa, and intimate, homestyle ambience.
Cons: No beer!
