I gotta agree that this location of LA Fitness sucks. I've worked out at two other LA Fitnesses in Texas -- one has 13 trainers and the other has 12. The Katy location has 5. Yes, 5. And two of them SUCK. One wanted to argue with me about how I should push myself to do things that hurt. Really. I literally threw out my back by doing what he wanted me to do. Another is self-absorbed, complains about other clients, and doesn't appear to know what he's doing. When I expressed my concern to management, I was cast as a problem member. I overheard a staff member telling a new trainer ""Good luck"" as she was about to work with me; he backpedaled when he saw that I heard him, but the damage was done. (By the way, Linda G. is FANTASTIC!) The location manager assured me that (1) she was going to hire new trainers and that (2) she'd upgrade me to an all-clubs membership if she didn't so I could go back to be trained at my other Houston-area club. She said she'd call me in no later than two days to let me know something; there are still no new trainers, two days has stretched into 3-4 months without me hearing a peep. I have a boatload of training sessions to use that I've already paid for, but I'll definitely switch gyms as soon as I can. There's no excuse for the quantity and quality (of at least 2/5 of them) of the trainers at this location.
