WIne Xing isn't the easiest place to find but it's well worth the trip. Eric Bean offers a wide selection of wines, covering a wide price range, from many regions worldwide (except New York!). He provides thought-provoking tasting notes from his personal experience with each wine. Eric is highly knowledgeable about grapes and regions and has never failed to make good recommendations when I've asked for one. He is never pushy, always helpful. Wine Xing's prices are a bit cheaper than most other stores.
I also enjoy the tastings Eric offers on Friday and Saturday. He offers 10 different wines, 5 reds and 5 whites (often one sparkling wine), so I always get to try a bunch of wines I've never encountered before. It's rare that I go home without at least one bottle. The tastings are low-key with plenty of opportunity to pick Eric's brain and exchange opinions. Occasionally Wine Xing offers a special evening tasting event. The one I attended was a lot of fun and worth every penny.
Wine Xing is highly recommended!
