Review content:
The geek squad is not all its advertised to be. I have a complaint about their lack of knowledge and customer service. I have twice been into a location and each time felt like I my intelligence had been brought down a point or two by listening to the geek squad attendant dribble on about this and that. I have enough education in Computer Information Sciences to have a solid understand about how these machines work. I unfortunately am too busy in my own profession to mess with my laptop, so I thought I'd have them manage it for me. The last time I entered their store I was attempting to have them upgrade some ram and to speed it up for me. I had called prior and verified that they had the ram I required and was told it was in stock. When I arrived they said they had just sold that last pair of ram sticks that I intended on having them install. I felt this was a total lie and was told something just to get me in the doors. Then I was being pitched a sales offer on another laptop computer. Att hat point I know it was the old ""bait and switch"" they had pulled. I left frustrated and annoyed with their deception. And I was left to find someone else to purchase the ram from and to have it installed by a professional. Google yielded a few options and I finally settled upon Secure Remote Support. I shipped them the laptop and within a week I had it back with a personal note from the technician who did the work. He expressed his appreciation for my business and left his direct line incase I had any questions. Geek Squad could take a lesson or two from these guys.
