Review content:
While staying in Palm Desert recently we decided to try out Firecliff since we had walked past it numerous times. The meal was very good, not great and not memorable until we got the check. My husband put his AMX card down and the waiter indicated that there was a $5 charge to use your AMX. He further explained that it was in small print on the bottom of the menu. We asked to see the bar menu which was different than the dining room (although it was one table over) and there was no indication of that charge. It was obvious the waiter was uncomfortable with the situation. We asked to talk to the mgr, which was the owner, Patricia. My husband shared he did not see the charge on the menu in which she rudely responded that it was clearly on the menus. He asked her where on the bar menu is it posted. Her response ""this must be an old menu"". She then preceded to complain about how all her costs are going up and said ""who do you think are going to pick up those costs"". She further indicated that the waiters made her accept AMX but in doing so she needed to charge. To make matters worse she kept asking my husband if the waiter suggested that we talk to her, if so she said she was going to fire him. WHAT KIND OF BUSINESS OWNER WOULD SAY THAT TO A PATRON! Needless to say, we will NEVER return and we will be sure to tell everyone we know not to support this woman.
