Review content:
Despite my reluctance to do so (I've had bad experiences here before), my wife convinced me to have our Mothers day dinner at this restaurant. She thought the open cafeteria style atmosphere would be more suitable for our small children. Also, she knows the owners personally. I made reservations for 6 pm. We arrived at the restaurant at 5:45. When we entered, we waited approximately 10 minutes prior to even being acknowledged. The restaurant was half full, yet the staff seemed to be incredibly preoccupied. We just stood waiting for some semblance of service. After being seated, we quickly decided upon our meals and waited for a server to visit our table. One of the owners walked in and greeted my wife personally. Nevertheless, we waited at least 20 minutes to be acknowledged by a server with no success. Finally, out of frustration, we left and enjoyed our mothers day meal at Tamarind...my choice in the first place. The only reason my wife hesitated is the intimate atmosphere in Tamarind...she didn't think the kids would do well in that environment. Nevertheless, Tamarind Restaurant saved the night. My family and I enjoyed our dinner thoroughly and my wife agrees, we will never contemplate the notion of returning to Taste of Thai Express again.
