You can get a family membership that works both here and at Descanso Gardens (La Canada) so do yourself a favor and buy the membership (about $50). We go to the Arboretum with our daughter who loves to watch the Peacocks, feed the ducks and the turtles in the pond. If you get there early in the morning and feed the turtles in back where parts of Fantasy Island were filmed (The Plane! The Plane!) you usually get to see a Night Herron dive into the water and grab a fish. Of course the grounds and enjoyable too. Sunset Magazine has set up several outdoor model patios so it's a great place for home improvement idea generation.
