I am very disappointed in this company. We needed a wood splitter and called Oakdale Rents and Home Depot and since the price was comparable we decided to go with the small local guy. Everything seemed great, very friendly and it turned out that they also rented wedding chairs & supplies which were great for my upcoming wedding. We had already placed our rental order with a reputable company and planned on canceling and placing with Oakdale Rents to support local business. In any case, once we got to splitting the splitter wouldn't split anything but kindling!! It had no power, since they were closed (Sunday) we had no choice but to go rent another one from Home Depot for another $100 as we had about 3 cords of wood to split. What an amazing difference, as we had never used a splitter before we didn't realize the difference until getting the other one from Home Depot, the blade was sharp not dull and nicked the Oakdale Rents. On Monday when we returned the splitter we advised of the problem we had and how we had to rent another one, the owner was very curt and said he guessed he'd have to sharpen his blade. Never offered a discount and said we were free to leave. Needless to say, I will not be renting my wedding supplies from this company or anything else. For a small local business I couldn't believe the bad customer service. Word of mouth is a very powerful tool............. RENT AT YOUR OWN RISK! HORRIBLE PRODUCTS, WORSE CUSTOMER SERVICE.
