Review content:
We purchased a dog from this pet store a week ago and it turned out to be the worst mistake that we ever made. We had this 3 lb puppy for 6 days. On the 4th day, the dog became very ill. We took it to our vet the next day and found out that this dog had two parasites attacking the dog's intestine and a burned tongue. We looked at the Health report provided by the Pet shop vet (Pleasant Valley hospital) and there was no record of the puppy having parasites nor a burned tongue. Moreover, there is no entry on the pet shop vet health report that the vet as part of their normal checkup checks the dogs stool sample. That's unheard of and that is where the crime comes in. Had they checked his stool sample, they would have saw the parasites and provided the necessary care so that the dog would have survived. But instead, they pushed him through the process and sold him to us. The dog continued to get worse requiring us to take the dog to the ER. The 3lb puppy couldn't hold anything down. It was vomiting, lethargic, diarrhea, and suffering. The ER informed us that there was a possibility that there could be more complications costing us anywhere from $2000-$3000 with very little hope that this 3lb dog would survive. We had no alternative other than returning the dog to the pet shop because we didn't want the dog to continue to suffer. This dog was a member of our family, we loved it and it was very emotional for us to return this dog. I read the other reviews where people mentioned that they had great experiences. We also have purchased three dogs in the past from this pet shop and thought this pet store was reputable but through this experience have learned that we were lucky with the other pets we purchased. As others write, the pet shops sell dogs from puppy mills and these dogs are not thoroughly checked out nor do they want to do that because if they did they would do a simple stool sample test. So before you get emotionally attached to a dog from this pet shop, go ahead and rescue a dog from a shelter or purchase from a reputable breeder. We are just trying to spare you the heartache that we experienced with our loving little Dodger who was such a good loveable little boy.
