Review content:
I just moved up to Mt Washington. I went out with 2 of my best friends. I have an apt full of boxes and needed a break.... not to drink. We were going out for their $.25 wing night on wednesday. I did not have a current ID because it was still packed but i did have an expired ID and a social security card as well as a student ID. I told the bouncer that i forgot my current ID but I had an expired and multiple IDs proving that I could be in the bar. He rudely told me that he wouldn't take it. Then he proceeded to give me a dirty look. I did not let this phase me because i have been to Redbeard's multiple times before I lived up here and really enjoyed the establishment. I went back to my apt to look through boxes so i could have a good evening with my closest friends. As i searching i received a phone call from my friends saying that i could come in as long as no alcohol was at the table. Well, there wasnt. Their drinks are overpriced as it was. I came back and waited inline to say tell the bouncer i was there. I told him I couldnt find my current ID and that the server was supposed to tell him about the circumstance. He told me ""i don't believe you"" in the most insulting and condisending tone anyone could possible express. I asked the bouncer for his name. He said Nate. Then i asked him for his last name. He told me ""It's just Nate"" with the same tone as before. I am sure the look on my facce was priceless because I was extremely nice to this gentleman. I Have worked in the food industry since i was 17 and in public service since i was 15. There is no need to treat patrons of you establishment with such rude behavior. The manager Debbie, was the server and immediately came up to ""Nate"" and told him my problem and That i was allowed to sit with my friends. He rolled his eyes. I then walked up to another waitress and asked who the manager was. I needed to know and she told me. Once I sat down, I talked to Debbie. She made my night tolerable. Nate lingered outside the deck multiple times to check on my table. He not only disrespected me but also his manager. As long as He is working I will not step foot in that bar again. Debbie was very understanding. I dont drink, I understand the laws but i did have multiple forms of ID that were either expired or lacked a birthdate. Debbie apologized and tried to help my hurt feelings. If one works in the service industry, then one should know how to treat others with respect. I have worked in bars for an extremely long time and there is no need to disrespect people in front of others, no matter if they are drunk or not. I know work in a upper class restaurant. It would never treat some as though they were subhuman. I can not put into words how horrible ""Nate"" made my day. He needs to find another job, one that keeps him away from others. He is a lowlife. Pros: Debbie and outdoor deck Cons: The bouncer named Nate ( wont give his last name)
