I knew the owners of CLP for many years. I encouraged the wife to go into business. In 2004 she did. Sjhe opened another store in Cannery Row and needed some help with her grooming department. I took the time time on a Sunday to do assist her and her husband and had agreed to give them any information they wanted. I work on Sundays out of necessity. I told them my fee and the wife agreed. I charged for three hours and stayed all day and continued to give them valuable information. I sent them an invoice. that was in 2008!! They didn't pay. What a rip off. I should have gotten a clue when they ran down a competitor in Carmel across the way from their old location. They said horrible things about him. I can only imagine how they treat their staff. the behavior was parasitic to say the least. What they did was steal. They should be ashamed of themselves. They claim to be upscale and yet they would steal income from someone's pocket who was sincere in helping them in their quest to be successful. Gossip and duplicity, these two elements alone are pre cursors for failure
