i had a similar experience to bride0408. this is a beautiful shop, with beautiful gowns. i immediately wanted to buy a dress here when i walked into the shop. it's adorable compared to other shops in the capital district. i ended up finding a nicole miller dress that was on clearance - it was exactly what i was looking for, and when i tried it on, it fit me. i bought it on the spot. this was about a year before my wedding. they said they would store it for me until the wedding got closer, and then contact me to come in to have it fitted (it fit me well, but still needed to be shortened and taken in a bit, minor alterations). i called about 2 months before the wedding, they were very nonchalant, acting like i was a crazy person for wanting to come in and have my dress fitted. so i called a month before the wedding, they were still very wishy washy, but i insisted on coming in to have it fitted. they pinned me, we discussed adding a different clasp (all small things) and said it would be no problem. about a week before my wedding i still hadnt heard from them. you would think they would want you to come in and make sure everything was perfect, but they said, just come pick it up any time. i told them i would feel more comfortable trying the dress on before i left the shop with it (obviously) and they changed their tune. they called me the next day (it was a weekend wedding so we were leaving to go to the wedding thursday. this was wednesday) saying there must have been a misunderstanding and they didnt think any alterations needed to be done. i flipped out and went right there. they had no recollection of me coming in a month prior or any of the alterations we discussed. then they made it out as though i would be rushing their seamstress to have these alterations done in one day. my aunt is well known locally in the wedding industry, and put a call in. they changed their tune and started calling me apologizing. AND the dress was not ready when i went to my wedding thursday, my aunt had to pick it up blindly friday and bring it. then they had the nerve to charge me almost $400 for the alterations (shortening and slight tucks around the bust). this was a horrible experience and i would never wish these people on anyone for such an important event!
