I'd give them NEGATIVE stars if I could, but unfortunately the rating system doesn't allow for that. People who for some reason or another disconnect their trash service and then come back to reconnect it are not only charged a $35 reconnect fee but are also expected to pay for the months of service that they did not receive. This is absolutely as crooked as it gets!! It's my understanding that a class action suit is being considered by a local attorney to represent people who have been charged for the weeks (or months) they did not receive service. I'll update this rating with the name and address of that attorney when I have his permission to do so. I also noted that there are multiple BBB complaints concerning this same practice. It's a shame that trash pickup is a ""monopoly"" in some municipalities because that makes these companies think it is easy to overcharge and prey upon those who are already struggling financially. Many of our neighbors have resorting to carting their own trash in lieu of using Midwest Waste's services. I highly recommend doing that until they get their act together.
