Review content:
I am new to the Pointes, having moved from New York, and I have only tried about 6 Chinese restaurants in Metro Detroit but Golden Dragon is by far the best I have found. I have not yet dined in, but the restaurant itself seems to be one that provides for a very traditional and somewhat dark atmosphere without the strip mall feeling or absurd trendiness of horrible Chinese restaurants. The sesame chicken is wonderful, combining just the right amount of crispiness and a wonderful deep maroon colored sauce, spciy but not too spicy to the point of tasting like buffalo wings (i.e. Golden Chopsticks), and not overly red or orange like you get at an inferior restaurant.
Forget about Moy's and Golden Chopsticks, try Golden Dragon. It should be placed high on the list best Chinese restaurants for 2004.
Enjoy!
