This is the most God-awful place imaginable! My father was transferred to Chelsea Place from an adult care facility in Bloomfield so that he could be transported easier to St. Francis Hospital for his weekly dialysis. Additionally, he was found to be a ""roamer"" and required a more secure facility. Since he was transferred there, he looks awful! The place is dirty and people of all types of capacity are just grouped together with very little care and attention. My father who is intellectually very sharp struggles with mental health issues that are very harmless (he talks about having big money, lots of real estate investments, politics and historical events). He is housed with people who have exhibited physical aggression, steal and engage in sexually deviant behaviors. I don't know how this place is allowed to continue to exist. I've started to do my part to look into how I can have him moved to a cleaner, safer, caring yet secure facility like the previous one in Bloomfield.
Pros: Convenient location to medical facilities
Cons: Dirty, disgusting, uncaring and unsafe
