Review content:
I was pleasantly surprised when I first ate here with my boyfriend after having just moved back from California. The service was average, as to be expected from small asian restaurants, but the food made up for what the service lacked. Upon being seated we were given a basket of Vietnamese Shrimp Chips. They were a little oily but still tasted good. I ended up ordering the Combination Salad which is a noodle dish mixed with vegetables, meat (your choice of chicken, pork, or (i think) shrimp), an eggroll, and fish sauce. The meat had a nice grilled taste to it, the eggroll had a fresh crispy crunch to it and came cut into pieces already so you could mix it with your noodles easily, and the vegetables were very fresh. I can honestly say there is only one place that served this better and that was at my boyfriend's mom's house back in California. Ever since coming here I've been a loyal customer of Mekong River and have found all of the dishes I've ordered here to be good but my all time favorite is the Combination Salad. Prices here are almost comparable to those in California, they charge just a little more. I would recommend this place to anyone craving or wanting to try Vietnamese food and don't know another good place to go to.
