In Sept-05, our room (a top floor unit with jacuzzi and fireplace) at The North Cliff Hotel was spacious and immaculate. Amenities included bathrobes, high quality toiletries, high grade coffe, free wireless internet, and each day a small refrigerator was stocked with complimentary croissants, muffins, fruit, Mendocino chocolates, juice and water. All rooms are oceanfront. Walk to the docks for a seafood meal. Beach access. I will return, but there are gotchas with this hotel. (1) It's pricey. (2) A very loud foghorn/buoy goes off every few minutes. Closing the windows muffles it, but then you cannot enjoy the ocean air, and the rooms get stuffy. (3) The fireplace is situated behind the jacuzzi, so it is not well located for either romance or heat. (4) There is no fitness center.
