Review content:
I was with a group of co-workers. I am American of Middle Eastern origin, 3 were Indian Hindus and 1 was a White American. From the second we walked in the owner (Artie) appeared to be a little tipsy from his own wine collection. He asked if I wanted some wine I refused since I don't drink. One of the Indians in our party was a very strict vegetarian and they seemed annoyed by this. From thereon Artie made a target out of our group. When he was bringing a plate of mussels to a neighboring table he brought it by our table saying, "These are mussels. For you foreigners who don't know sh--!" I said politely that Italy was a "foreign country". Finally, as we were leaving he looked at us and said mockingly, "You all look like a bunch of f--king terrorists! Do I need to call the cops?" and then proceeded to repeat that as we walked out the restaurant. The tragic irony was that the food was pretty good. In spite of the good food, I will not return since I feel this behavior is not acceptable in any professional establishment. It is also important that potential patrons of "foreign countries" be aware of what they are in for. If you can tolerate it, the food is good, but I can't say its so good that its worth being derrogated. Pros: Delicious food, very good portion size, good presentation. Cons: Owner can be insulting to guests. In my specific case it was racial.
