Review content:
As a massage therapist, I've enjoyed getting to know A New Beginning School of Massage. As a smaller school, the classes are always a nice size. The teachers have practiced massage professionally and know what it is like to be a working therapist, which is important to me as a practicing therapist.
I have taken Continuing Ed classes at A New Beginning. My favorite was Michael's Face Massage class. (Again an experienced and successful therapist who worked at Lake Austin Spa Resort and elsewhere and now teaches at ANB.) Michael's class is delightful and entertaining. You learn a lot and the time flies by.
I also recently took advantage of the Internship Massage program. (Students do a supervised internship at the end of training and the services are offered to the public.) The 90 minute massage was only $39! As a therapist myself, I'm critical of others, but I must admit the massage I got was great! I've since told other therapist friends about the program and they, too, had good reviews.
If you are considering going to Massage School, need CEUs, or just want an inexpensive internship massage, A New Beginning is definitely worth checking out.
Extras: The school is conveniently located near the intersection of Mopac and Bee Caves Road with easy access and plentiful, free parking. If you have a break during class, the grounds of the office complex are lovely and there are places to walk or brown bag outdoors. The Greenbelt and Zilker Park are close by as well as restaurants.
