Review content:
We went with this title company instead of our realtors due to a special deal the bank was offering. If we went with the seller's (the bank) title company they paid for so much of it which took a great amount off our closing costs. The day before we were to close it was brought to our attention the company did not send over all of the documents needed, then when my realtor tried to contact the person assigned to our Title Search, she answered said her name and then once my realtor identified who she was and with, the girl hung up on her. When she tried calling back the receptionist then said she was out of the office. When she emailed her no replies were received. This continued for hours. Finally I got involved as this whole situation put my closing on hold. When I called the receptionist said the same thing - that the girl was at lunch. When I became persistant and kept calling she finally got tired of it and passed me off to her supervisor. This person confirmed the request for addtional information was received and that the girl was indeed in the office. So then I brought to his attention her failure to answer the phone or communicate with us, which in turn he became very defensive of and blamed the missing document on us and our realtors! The document request came over with everything that was needed. The only failure was their own as they didnt read it thoroughly to see what was needed. We dont work for them = they are to be working for us! So after the fire was lit he said he would put a rush on it. 2 days later the document is emailed to my realtor. When the settlement/closing rep received the documents they informed us that it was the needed document but missing pages!!! OMG.... so again we contact them. Lets just say... we were to close on a Wednesday, rented all of our equipment to work on the house and a moving truck and there is no chance of closing until next week! All of our deposits out the window and YET again this company doesnt communicate with us and cant deliver the complete documents needed.
Pros: Cheap
Cons: The saying ""You get what you pay for"" applies here
