Review content:
This is absolutely the worst new car experience of my lifetime. I will never set foot in this dealership. I purchased a brand new 2011 Hyundai Elantra on March 31, 2011. On Apr. 4, 2011, I experienced a blow out of the left front tire. The car does not come with a spare tire, it comes with a can of fix a flat and a small 12 volt air compressor. Since, the inner sidewall of the tire was cut the fix a flat was useless. I called the service department at the dealership and was told to call roadside assistance. I ended up getting a spare tire from a friend and driving the car home. I called the service department back and spoke to the service manager who told me that they would order a new tire for the vehicle. On Tuesday I brought the flat tire in and asked the service manager if I was responsible for purchasing the tire. He told me that Hyundai would take care of it. I was very glad to hear that, considering the car was less than 4 days old. On Thursday after waiting for the tire to be delivered the sales manager called me and told me that the can of fix a flat was $94 and did I still want to order it and that the bill for the tire was $200. I asked him why he suddenly changed his story on taking care of the cost of the tire. He told me we discussed the price of the tire on Monday when I called. I told him that I never would have told him to order a tire if I knew it was $200, that for that price I am sure I could find the same tire somewhere for much cheaper. Basically I waited for 4 days without a car and then was lied to flat out by this sercive manager John at Gerald Hyundai. I promptly took my tire and rim, left the store and got a replacement tire at NTB for $65 less. This guy is a complete liar and cheat. They tried to over charge me for the tire, which he originally said that they would cover, to top it off he then tried to sell me a can of fix a flat for $94. I wish I could return the car and purchase it elsewhere. I have never been blatantly lied to by a service manager from a new car dealership in my life before until now. I will never do business with Gerald Hyundai in North Aurora, IL for anything. I would not even let them wash my car after this experience.
