Review content:
A friend recommended Spectrum to me, and we hired them to take us to a concert at the meadowlands. As a lifelong ""corporate"" guy, I take car services several times per month, and because I've been with a few firms I've experienced many different companies. Only because this was a personal event did I even get the chance to try my friend's recommendation.
I've never written a review of a service provider before, but for Spectrum I feel I need to. In a sea of commoditized mediocre service in car service, Spectrum is like a roman candle in a dingy basement. Because this was not a simple drop-off/pickup (we tailgated for the concert) we got a better view of this company's standard (exceptional) service.
Aside from getting all of the ""basics"" right -- perfect on-time pickup, competitive price, well-appointed, new, clean car - the driver went out of his way to treat us with the perfect level of respect and attention, without being obsequious or helicoptering.
More impressively, he really treated the experience as if he were our host, rather than simply driver -- some examples:
- continuously checking the traffic and before hitting the bad spot offering to stop so we could use the restroom
- over our protestations, setting up our tailgate equipment and manning the grill
- after the tailgate, proactively offering to leave his spot to drop us and pick us up from someplace closer to our gate
- offering to stop at a store while we were in the concert to grab us some folding chairs so we could continue the tailgate after if we wanted (we hadn't thought to bring enough chairs)
I don't typically like a lot of attention, and usually just want to spend time with the people I'm with, but this firm seems to really train its folks to provide just the right level of service without it being ""too much,"" and certainly outside the bounds of a normal limo company. Think of it like lunch at the Four Seasons' Pool Room, but in a car.
Use them. You won't regret it.
Pros: incredible service, clean new car, competitive price
