Review content:
I had a pet die in the past two weeks, and asked to have her cremated. When I called to find out how much it would be, I was told that I had a huge bill - I had not been informed that I owed more than the cremation, although I have no problem paying what I owe. However, I said I could pay for the cremation, and would need to pay off the rest. I was told that they would hold my cat's remains until the entire bill was paid off. I am horrified by this! In essence, my cat's ashes are being held hostage until I have the money to pay the bill off - and I'm not sure when that will be. There was no talking to them about it - this is their policy, and that's it. If I hadn't had my cat cremated, they would have sent me a bill - and I would have paid it off. The cremation and the rest of the bill are two separate issues. I think this is a heartless way to treat someone who has had a loss like this. The secretary there has been very rude when I've called to talk about it - and of course, I'm upset because I STILL don't have my cat's ashes. This may be a business, but it's also a business where you deal with people's pets and their hearts, because our pets are our hearts - mine died of a heart condition I didn't even know she had, and she was only 7, so this is devastating to me. While I did receive a card from the vet, handling people this way is unacceptable - human deaths are not handled this way - and I will never go back in there with my other two pets. Be forewarned and take your pets where both the pets and the owners are honored. Cons: The secretary is a very unpleasant person to deal with, and when I talked with Dr. Hunter on the phone when my cat was ill, he was very abrupt.
