Review content:
We had a storage shed with American Mini Storage and we owed one month's rent on the unit. When we called to make a payment on the account, we were informed that our items had already been sold. We only owed two months rental fees and in fact had paid one month of them and were not told that an auction was forthcoming. When we confronted the business, they presented us with information showing that the public notice of the auction was actually placed in the paper a full month and a half BEFORE they claimed to have sent the notice to us by certified mail, a notice which we never received. This is in clear violation of Chapter 59. Also at the time the public notice was placed in the paper, we were completely caught up on our rental. My wife and our 7-year old lost a lot of personal effects that were in the storage shed, things that cannot be replaced. In fact, they both have been going through a lot of anxiety due to this. A lot of these things were items that were memories of my wife's father and mother who had passed away (which is why we moved to Texas in the first place). We had this shed for over 2 years and had paid a lot of money to this company for them to treat us like this. Also, the report in which they ""documented"" phone calls to me contained several inaccuracies, leading me to believe they ""documented"" but never actually made the phone calls or even attempted them. On several occasions they claim they called my number but they could not leave a message but could leave a call back number. In all the time that I have had this phone, that has NEVER been the case so this is a complete fabrication! We are also owed money for this illegal auction and are still waiting.
