If your sweet tooth is craving something different, I recommend a visit to this bakery located in San Leandro. Not only will you find sweet potato pies, but youll also find bread pudding, seven up cakes, sock-it-to-me cakes, red velvet cakes, and more. Dont be dismayed if you find the display case empty upon your arrival, just ask the counter clerk if they have more in back. It seems that more often than not, if you are willing to wait, they will bring out what you are looking for. The great thing about Marita's is that if you don't want to buy a whole cake, you can purchase a single slice of just about everything in the store. Plus, the prices are very reasonable. The one complaint I have about this bakery is that the service is oftentimes very slow. They only seem to have one person working at the counter despite 3-5 people waiting in line. The best thing to do is to just be patient and they will take care of you. Its worth the wait.
