Driver was late, equipment did not work properly, duck-taped seats, was not allowed full five hours as paid for.
On Tuesday June 14, 2011, I was given a written quote of $400.00 for five hours of local motor coach service on Friday 07/22/2011. I specifically requested a working DVD player for this trip as it involved a local tour which included a slide presentation and DVD video. Ms. Spaulding assured me in writing on Wednesday July 13, 2011, that her DVD player was fully operational and working. On Monday July 18, 2011, I mailed money order #14283448877 in the amount of $400.00 to their remittance address at 6725 Caudell Place, Charlotte, NC 28215, along with a request for Ms. Spaulding to confirm receipt of payment upon arrival. I did not receive a confirmation of payment as requested and had to email her several times before she finally responded on Thursday July 21, 2011, stating that my payment was received the day before. She also reiterated that her driver - Eugene Weathers - would be at the spot location at 8:30 AM. Mr. Weathers actually arrived at approximately 8:45 AM and was not told by Ms. Spaulding that we requested a working DVD player. In fact, he had problems turning the player on and could not locate the remote. He was told to call into the office to locate the remote but they could not tell him where it was located. This caused our guide to have to bend down near the driver's knee each time he had to advance the slide show which was very dangerous considering the vehicle was in motion most of the time. There were over 70 slides included in his presentation. The guide also noticed that there were at least six seats in the back of the coach that were being held together by grey duct tape which created a very unprofessional interior appearance. In addition, the PA system stop working all together (after cutting off several times before) at the mid-way point of the tour causing some of the passengers to not be able to hear until our guide turned on his portable PA system in which we furnished. Some of our customers stated that they wanted a refund because of their inferior equipment. To add insult to injury, Ms. Spaulding stated that her coach needed to be back to their lot by 1 PM in order to be serviced; which gave us only until 12:30 PM. That cut our trip short by one hour and 15 minutes considering the driver showed up 15 minutes late. This company refused to honor our request for a partial refund and ignored our complaint to the Better Business Bureau.
