Review content:
Last year I had my Honda generator serviced by these guys because the idle was erratic. They said a typical wait time is about two weeks. I told him I needed it within three days because I was going on vacation. The guy said, bring it down right now and we'll get it done. Two hours later they called and it was ready, and that impressed me. One problem though. When we first spoke, he suggested a ""full service"", for $53.00 plus parts. But later said, well, let's just get it running smooth since you need it quickly. I asked if that would be cheaper and he said ""sure it will, if it's a quick fix"". When I went to pick it up the price was $77.49. I asked why and he said ""because we charged you an hour labor"". I reminded him of the quote, and he said, ""oh, that was only a 'guestimate', I can't guarantee the price ahead of time"". After some polite exchange, he lowered it to $65.87. He said, ""if you come and see us again, we'll make it right next time"". Well, I would have preferred if they made it right 'this' time. The thing is, he originally said they would do a ""full service"" for $53.00, which I thought would at least include an oil change, but all they did was clean the carb, air filter and change the spark plug, which doesn't take an hour. After twenty hours of use, the idle was back to running unsteady again. So I took it in to Cycle Country Honda in Salem, OR. They did a FULL SERVICE for $42.00 and it has been working fine ever since. I wouldn't go back to Stark Street Lawn and Garden for any reason.
Cons: Overpricing, Don't Honor Estimates
