Review content:
I live within walking distance of this restaurant, and it's really, really good. The crust is good all on its own. The sauce is divine. Their cheese pizza is beyond compare. Everything on the menu is worth eating. There's a reason no one can ever get a seat there. There are a lot of people who talk a lot about the customer service. Yeah, they have a point. I have never been to Virgilio's and had bad service from the staff, but there also hasn't been a single time that I've gone that I haven't seen Virgilio telling at least one of his staff members that they weren't doing a good enough job, not always in the nicest of ways. Let me tell you something though: The pizza he makes is amazing. That's an understatement. I ate a lot of pizza when I was in NYC, and every time we went out for pizza, my husband and I were left slightly empty. Why? well, it was good, but nothing in the world compares to Virgilio's pizza. Not even Lombardi's, supposedly the original NY pizza, and the best in Little Italy. Virgilio's was still better. So if you go, try not to pay attention to Virgilio. It doesn't matter who the man is; his pizza is like heaven, and anyone who's had it will tell you that. It's addictive: once is enough to hook you for life. The only question that remains is: did he sell his soul or something to learn his mad pizza-makin' skills?
Pros: pizza and garlic knots to die for, affordable
Cons: owner is rather mean to employees, parking in that shopping center is ridiculous. these aren't detractors.
