Review content:
Dr. Ankone and her staff are truly the most wonderful and caring group of cat lovers (and people lovers) I have ever met. I took my cat Tommy here upon recommendation from a friend. What was supposed to be a general check-in and ?meet the new vet? appt turned out to be life changing. Tommy was almost 16 at the time and had medical problems but I had no idea that while he was getting good care by his previous vet, he wasn't getting the personal care that Dr. Ankone and her staff provides. They educated me about his diet and gave me a lot of good tips. More importantly, they discovered the medication he was on was making him diabetic so Dr. Ankone immediately adjusted his meds. She was so concerned about getting Tommy stabilized, Dr. Ankone took him home with her over the weekend and into the next week, when she was technically on vacation. Who does that these days???
The staff loved Tommy and treated him like their own when I boarded him. They didn't mind my daily check in calls and I was never made to feel like the crazy cat lady, even though I probably was. It became the office joke that the girls in the office was Tommy's ""harem"" because every one of them loved on him so much.
Unfortunately, Tommy's illness got the best of him and the doctor, staff and I collectively discussed his options and we put him down. They were my support system and family during that time and I will never forget.
About a week later, I received a beautiful condolence card that the whole staff signed and wrote personal notes. I also received TWO follow up phone calls over the course of two months to see how I was doing. Again, who does that!
Finally, the kicker was that I found out that they made a donation to a foundation in memory of Tommy.
When it was time to get another pet, I almost got a cat just so I could go to All About Cats but I got a dog instead. Now if only they would open an ""All About Dogs!""
