FRIGHTENING!...She dismisses patients who seek a second opinion. Luckily for us we had already moved on when we told her we had sought a second opinion. READ ON.... Her lack of knowledge and/or care NEARLY COST MY HUSBAND'S EYESIGHT....PLEASE READ THIS ENTIRE REVIEW, it could save the sight and possibly life of you or your loved one. The absolute worst experience with a doctor in my life. This (""doctor?) could have caused my husband to go blind due to her lack of knowledge and disregard for the warning signs I repeatedly told her staff about over a series of 2 weeks. She put my husband on chemo drugs for his condition without first testing his eyesight and then not following up on his eyesight during the treatment which IS THE STANDARD PROPER PROTOCOL for the this treatment. This eye exam protocol is written right on the cautions and side effects that come with the chemo drugs! The reason to test the eyes is because there is a possibility you can go blind as a side effect of the chemo drugs she put him on. When he started losing his eyesight I called her office repeatedly each time letting them know that his sight was getting progressively worse. I pleaded with her RUDE staff for to please get Dar to call me back which SHE NEVER DID!!!!! After almost 3 weeks her PA finally responded and told me that Dr. Dar didn't think the drugs had anything to do with my husband's loss of sight and simply left it at that. I was appauled and angry to say the least. Thanks to god I had the presence of mind to call a Hematologist (Dr Wilks) who upon hearing what was happening to him INSISTED I get to an eye suregeon THAT DAY. Upon examening his eyes, the eye doctor suggested we to find another Gastro and luckily we found Dr. Zurita who sent us directly to Dr. Eric Lawitz who immediately took my husband off the chemo drugs and thanks again to god he did! My husband;s eyesight gradually got better and we are now waiting for another drug trial to start up for his condition. All I can tell you is I would not let Dar nor her husband, who is also a Gastroenterologist, ever touch any loved one of mine. If every word I have written is the absolute Go's truth!!! I don't know the intelligence level of the people who have given this horrible medical non professional a positive review but my final thought to you is "" A WORD TO THE WISE SHOULD BE SUFFICIENT""!!!!!!!!
