Review content:
I heard about a beautiful Italian restaurant with soft yellow walls and a long wine list, nestled in the quiet streets of Manette...but I never expected such a fine gem! Our server was gracious, friendly, and very helpful. She definitely knew her stuff about quality food and enjoyable wine, but the atmosphere is completely unpretentious. I enjoyed the best grilled lamb of my life; my boyfriend had a tender pork dish; my parents even joined us later for a light dinner and some dessert! The menu is small and changes every day--even the wine list changes frequently. I would like to see more small plates and appetizers to go along with the extensive wines. Add a cheese plate, please! This is not strictly an Italian restaurant--it has more of an organic/Northwest aura about it. I recommend that they remove the essentially non-italian items from the menu, or dont advertise as an Italian restaurant. Add some fresh fish, not just prawns and clams in the linguine. I will recommend La Fermata to all my friends in Seattle, and I can't wait to come back on a blustery fall day for a cozy, comforting dish. Mille gracie!
Pros: Delicious food, great wine list, superb service. Great location near the water.
Cons: Needs more small plates/appetizers and fresh seafood. No patio. The bathroom is small (but cute!)
