Review content:
I LOVE going to the zoo! I've been to the LA Zoo, San Diego Zoo, even a Zoo in China! Now I have been to the San Francisco Zoo. Definitely my favorite of all! My BF and I went on a sunny Saturday afternoon so I totally thought it was going to be packed. Any zoo can loose its awesomeness the more it gets packed with screaming kids and annoying teens. A quick bus ride and we were in the middle of a concrete jungle all by ourselves! Well, not completely alone but there definitely wasn't a crowd.
We got there about 2 hours before closing so a lot of the animals were just getting ready for dinner and a bath before bed. They all seemed lively, most likely because they were hungry and we looked like a good appetizer before dinner. We got into a staring match with the big Silverback Gorilla (I swear he was thinking about how to get over the barrier), saw a mommy and baby gorilla, got yelled at by a couple of chimps, watched the giraffe chow down, chilled with some flamingos, said goodnight to the koala, sunbathed with the kangaroos, got close to the polar and grizzly bears, followed the back and forth pacing of a hungry tiger, ran away quietly from the roaring lion, and watched the fighter jet penguins race around the pond.
The SF Zoo does these awesome BikeAbouts that I would love to do when they come back in season! I can't wait for our next SF Zoo visit! In fact, if anyone was wondering: I'm accepting any and all donations for an annual SF Zoo membership! You know, in case they run out of snuggies and you can't think of what else to get me for Christmas *wink*wink*nudge*nudge*
Pros: monkeys
Cons: all animals are pros!
