Stay away from Richard New and the Lake Cumberland Funeral Home. Richard New is totally dishonest. I had my wife cremated there, signed a contract and was told that her body would be cleaned and wrapped in fresh linen following autopsy in Frankfort. But instead her body bag was never opened before cremation - Richards New's own words due to safety concerns.Because the body bag (non EPA approved bag) was never opened and the body properly prepared a large medical device which was placed back in the bag following the autopsy was also cremated. This device once heated would have exploding batteries and given off such toxic agents as mercury, lithium, arsenic and lead. The Lake Cumberland Funeral Home cremates in body bags- just like taking your garbage to an incinerator.
