Review content:
I've actually never been to this one, but I wanted to know if this is the same ""chain"" as the ones that I've been to in NYC and/or Washington, DC? I've frequented these spots when I lived out East, and they were very ""chic"" restaurants; more ambience than flavor. The food wasn't bad, however at the DC restaurant (for instance) there is a Malaysian restaurant literally a few doors down from Penang, and the food at that restaurant (Malaysian Kopitiam) is stellar compared to Penang's. Just wondering if it's the same chain, and if so -- I find it a little weird that they have one in West Covina, but not in/around LA or West Hollywood (or even in Santa Monica or Venice).
