Review content:
I went in this past Thursday to purchase a pair of boots for the first time. Although the sales staff was extremely knowledgeable and helpful about picking out the appropriate boot, they failed to correctly inform me of their return policy. I spent almost an hour in the store and made it clear that I was unsure of the boot I was considering buying because it seemed too wide to fit under jeans. I specifically asked if I could return the boots and the response was 'yes'. Further, when I checked out the boots rang up for $60.00 more than I had expected because the display boot was on top of boxes that contained a much cheaper boot. Again, I hesitated because this was more money than I had planned on spending and this is not a purchase that is typically within my budget. I asked again if I could 'return' the boots and the response was 'yes' so I purchased them anyway. Once home, I tried on the boots (inside, on carpet) and was not happy with the way they fit with pants. I returned to the store on Sunday (with the receipt and tags on the boots) and was told that I could only exchange the boots or receive store credit. Surely, if the store carries an exchange or store credit only return policy, the time to tell me that would have been during the two times that I specifically asked. Also, there is not anything in writing that is visible to the customers before making a purchase about the return policy until you actually purchase something. Then it is written at the bottom of the receipt. Had I been informed of the correct policy, I would not have purchased the boots. Although I do my best to support local retailers, I feel as though these guys are sneaky about their sales tactics. There is no reason why they could not be upfront and honest about their return policy...other than they know they would not have made a sale.
Pros: good range of western wear and outdoor attire
Cons: sneaky sales tactics
