Our home was built in the 1980s, and the electrical panel installed at that time is no longer up to code. In fact, the manufacturer was sued because the product was deemed a fire hazard. Why wife and I wanted to prepare our home to be sold, so the old panel and wiring had to go.
We called several companies to solicit bids for the work, which I would call a medium-sized job. I'll say that they all left me wanting in terms of customer service. I've been in the customer service business all my life, and am what you might call old-school in terms of my expectations. I finally called Jeffries Electric, and Mr. Jeffries himself showed up to give the assessment. He explained the process completely, along with a thorough lesson on the national code. He left me with a firm written quote that was very precise. He was personal throughout, and met my old-school expectations.
Once I had made the decision to hire Jeffries Electric, I called and they had me scheduled within five days. The job entailed a whole new electrical panel, new grounds, a new ground rod that was more deeply planted, and complete rewiring. They also installed a few additional circuits for new appliances, and ground fault interrupters all around. It was 99 degrees out, and they furnished a generator to keep our air conditioner and refrigerator running throughout the course of the installation. And it didn't take long at all, because they work quickly, and have a agreement with the local utilities company to where they are authorized to pull the meter themselves.
When the city inspector came out, he told me that they had done a great job, and everything passed the first time through. The job was done exactly as they said it would be, and we are very pleased. It was a truly phenomenal experience, and I've already recommended them to a neighbor, who is bringing them out for a bid.
