Review content:
Went to have lunch at Hokkiado in Newport. 10/19/08 Was expecting the place to be similar as the one in Long Beach on Cherry Ave. A few complaints I have is that the food was not as good as the one in Long Beach. My family was overly upset that they didn't get the same satisfaction as when we ate at the one on Cherry Ave (in Long Beach). The fried rice was hard, it looked like hard maggots. It seemed as though the fried rice wasn't even cooked well. My family doesn't care about the quantity of food, but we rather go for ""quality"" instead. This restaurant needs to keep up with the one in Long Beach. If you haven't tried the one in Long Beach, you don' t know what you are missing. It's bigger, and it's seems more inviting and warm when you walk in. It's not as dull looking as the one in Newport. Family members of mine who ate at this restaurant in Newport also said that the food wasn't good but perfer the one in Long Beach. I was planning on having my son's birthday dinner there in Newport but I am glad that i tried it out first and I won't ever go to this place.
Pros: the place was clean
Cons: food wasn't up to ""quality"" par
