Review content:
The Border Cafe is the place to go for very well-prepared Mexican and Cajun specialties served in heaping portions at very reasonable prices. It is family friendly (it can get loud at times) and also gets crowded, but who can complain when the all-you-can-eat corn chips and salsa are free with each meal and the food is better than that from surrounding places at a fraction of the cost? Best bets include the fried catfish tacos (make sure to ask for guacamole and sour cream), fajitas that are served on sizzling skillets (that admittedly cause your clothing to reek), and healthier options like the perfectly prepared mesquite grilled salmon San Sebastian served with a mesclun greens and black bean and corn salsa. Other very good options include the gaucho chicken and the chimichurri steak. Plenty of vegetarian options exist as well as good margaritas to wash down your meal. Big kids and little kids each have their own menu, and the kids meals include fajitas, quesadillas, burgers, and all come with fries, a drink, and M&M's or Skittles and will set you back less than $3. The servers are all youthful but generally enthusiastic and are great at keeping your drinks refilled and your basket full of chips. The restaurant does not serve dessert except for the kids meals. Pros: Well prepared food at inexpensive prices, good service Cons: Can get loud, crowded, and your clothes may smell like fajitas
