11 months out of the year the food is spectacular and the service is exceptional. We have eaten here at least twice a month, but this was the first time we had been there during Lent. We have never had a bad meal until last night.( 3/9.) Evidently, if you aren't there for their lenten fish dinner, your business doesn't matter. We went to hang out, catch some of the pens game and grab some awesome munchies. Instead we were all but ignored at the bar by Mandy the bartender. Took an hour to get 2 bowls of soup, which she brought out to us in a to-go bag and another 45 minutes to get our apps, which sat under the heat lamp too long and burned. We tried twice to leave between the soup and the apps, but we couldn't get her attention to get us the check, and she had already taken the card to run a tab so we didn't want anything else added if we just walked out. Tried to get a manager, but the host with the clipboard was too busy to help since we weren't on his list for a table in the dining room. This is a small locally owned restaurant and bar, and usually the owner is always around. Not sure where he was last night. Hubby and I were both in the restaurant biz for a long time, and we had never seen anyone treat customers as we were treated last night. It was also the first time we have never tipped anyone!! We left hungry, and angry at being treated so poorly after being good customers....not regulars, but pretty steady. Maybe we'll try again after Easter.
