I like the food at Cornucopia, a lot. The fries are great, the burgers are great, the sandwiches are good, the salads aren't bad. But the service is terrible!
I have a group of co-workers that I go to lunch with and they won't go to Cornucopia anymore because the service has been so consistently terrible. I defended the restaurant, mostly because I really like the fries. But after my dinner tonight, I don't think I can do it anymore. The waitress seemed distracted, and almost a little annoyed that we were in her section. She didn't check on us once after the food was delivered, not even to offer drink refills. After we finished eating it took just about an hour to get the check. And it wasn't crowded! I watched other groups come in, get seated in other sections (different server), eat, pay and leave in the time we were waiting on our check. It was pretty ridiculous.
Anyway, I hate to light them up like this - since the food is so good, but the poor service has just gone too far for even me.
If you are irritated at all by bad service, don't consider Cornucopia. But if you're pretty easy going and you've got nothing but time, you'll probably like it. Just be sure to avoid Verna's section...
Pros: Best burger and fries in Eugene, hands down
