Since moving to CT about 10 years ago from NY we have found two things were missing here: real NY style Pizza and a real NY style diner. The latter has been found. The Vernon Diner has it all...authentic greek style foods and traditional diner fare complete with homemade soups and homemade desserts. The NY style cheesecake alone is worth the trip from anywhere. The cheesecake, made on site, is a 6"" thick creamy delight mounded with fresh strawberries. Service is friendly and prompt. Thursday evenings often offer entertainment-a greek accordian player accompanied by various singers and instruments. The Vernon diner is an exit off of I84 well worth taking.
