This is a top notch children's center that has been quietly in operation for over 25 years. They have an infant room, toddler room and separate preschools for 2 year olds, 3 year olds, and 4/5 year olds. Most of the caregivers are also certified teachers, specially trained in child development. The teachers plan activities, as well as follow proven programs to help children develop in a positive healthy way. I discovered this gem of a place when my son was 2 1/2 years old, so I cannot vouch for the infant care, however there are many families who start with infant care and stay all the way through preschool and pre-kindergarten, and they are quite happy with the school. There is a baby yard for the wee little ones, a toddler yard, and a separate yard for the older children, with a full play ground, tricycle area, basketball hoop, some quiet places for reading, a sandbox and a children's vegetable garden. As far as programs are concerned, they have a visiting musician one morning per week, a librarian another day, and a gymnastics instructor yet another morning- all included in the normal fee. They also just started teaching Spanish in what they call Spanish immersion circle time, also one day of the week. All the teachers are very sweet with the kids, and provide daily reports to the parents. Parents are encouraged to participate in the classrooms, at holiday parties, etc. This creates a little SCC parent community, allowing the formation of play dates with friends from school on weekends; thus my son, now in sixth grade, still has friends from preschool. I only wish there was a place like this for me when I was young!
