Review content:
A lovely restored period home with a beautiful yard and gardens near downtown Lawrence. Easy walking distance to all the restaurants and night life, and close to KU campus, too. Parking is on the street only. . I would really call it a small hotel which serves breakfast, rather than a B&B. The owner is not in residence, but employs a friendly staff to care for the business. You will pay for their services with an obligatory gratuity tacked onto your bill. We were a little put off by that policy. Breakfast is served in a sunny room overlooking the leafy yard. They give you a small menu to choose from, and the food is light, fresh and tasty. Since the house is old and restored, we found it rather noisy to stay there. All the floors are wood and creaky and there are many wooden doors serving all the rooms which seem to slam all night as other guests come and go. We stayed in the below grade ""Good Times"" Suite and there was lots of foot traffic overhead. But all in all, a fun, reasonably priced place to stay which sure beats the local chain hotels.
