Review content:
The teachers and facility are very nice and we feel that it's a safe, comfortable environment for our children. Our primary complaint with this school is the number of days that they are closed per year. They are closed a total of 19 school days per year including teacher work days, holidays and conferences. They also close with the Adams County Schools (instead of just being guided by their closings) and were closed two days this year so far for cold weather. Since our children don't wait for the bus, and our monthly charges don't decrease, this seemed unreasonable.
All in all it's a substantial amount of time for parents to take off work, especially compared to other area schools who charge similarly and are open more.
Additionally, they charge $1 per minute that parents are late picking up their children (which is understandable) but don't offer $1 per minute credit when the teachers are late for the 6:30am opening, which happens at least once a week, often more frequently.
If they change their calendar we may stay, but as it stands we plan to change to another school (once they have availability) just so we're not using all of our vacation time on random days that Mountain View is closed.
