Review content:
I was impressed by the Car Toys adverts for the '08 Christmas sale. Many car stereos were priced low, and the ad said there was free ""basic installation."" So I venture into the store, and tell the salesperson my budget and my requirements for a deck. She immediately dragged me away from the budget room into the high-priced stereo room, telling me things such as ""the low-end model won't tune in REAL HD radio,"" and ""you MUST have bluetooth hands-free capabilities if you want to talk on your phone in-car in Oregon after Jan 1st."" She said Oregon just passed a hands-free driving law and it would be in effect in days. (This was a lie, there is no hands-free law in Oregon.) She also explained that none of the decks in the store were simple enough to be a ""basic install"" so all of the decks suddenly had nearly $200 of extra install and misc fees. I told her the nicer deck was out of my budget, so she handed me the business card of a place where I could get a loan for the more expensive one! She just wanted a better sales commission, it was obvious. I've been lied to at other Car Toys locations before, and now I remember why I don't shop there. I ended up purchasing the lower-end deck at a competitor who beat their price and beat their install price, with no hidden fees. And the HD works just fine without the fancy, expensive add-on doo-dads that the Car Toys sales rep tried to push on me. I feel sorry for people that believe anything the sales reps say there.
Pros: Good demo rooms
Cons: Sneaky tricks pulled with prices, salesmen lie blatantly
