Review content:
Just came home from Dapur. The drinks were good - definitely order the Gin and Cucumber (I think it was called the darkmoor). We ordered the papaya salad and spring rolls for appetizers. The salad was really good. The spring rolls were crisp, but we really couldn't taste much of the filling. \r \r For the main courses we ordered the Beef Rendang and the Bakmi goreng. The Bakmi noodles were delicious, but the disappointment of the night was the Beef Rendang. I saw the menu online, and we basically went for the beef rendang. I grew up in NY where I would eat at Penang and Nyonya, and lived in Asia where I travelled often to Singapore and Kuala Lumpur - Beef Rendang is one of those foods for me where I get a huge craving, and you just can't get it down in South Florida. First of all - 4 medium sized pieces of beef served with rice was $15.99. There are a lot of spices in Beef Rendang, and the 3 flavors I think about the most are coconut, chile peppers and lemongrass. I really couldn't taste any of them. Beef rendang also falls apart with a fork .... this was a bit tough.\r \r Dessert was hit and miss also - the passionfruit pie was amazing. The chocolate cake was amazingly dense and a little dry.
