Review content:
We were very disappointed by floors installed in our nursery and master bedroom by this company in September of 2010. A red flag was raised when the owner of the company, Homero, and his assistant, Natasha, failed to respond promptly to our attempted contacts with them once the job was scheduled. We overlooked this fact, however, because the owner appeared attentive and above-board when he provided our initial consultation.
Unfortunately, it has been only 13 months since installation, and the cherry wood floors installed have multiple scratches and areas of bleaching that other companies have now confirmed are not consistent with typical wear and tear. Recently, for example, a large cardboard box was pushed between our living room and nursery; the living room floor is unscathed, while the nursery floor suffered a large and deep scratch. There have been multiple instances over the last several months during which minimal activity caused large and visible damage to these floors. The bleaching is severe and occurred in areas where furniture was placed and has since been moved.
We contacted the owner of the company and provided him with pictures of the scratches and bleached areas. He stated that we need to be more careful and that any hardwood would scratch as these floors have. When we pointed out that our living room floors did not scratch from identical activity, he repeated that we need to be more careful. He also stated that all floors bleach; again, our living room floors have no discolored areas due to furniture placement.
Consulting with two other companies has revealed that the likely culprit is cheap finish applied to the cherry wood floors. The floors were supplied by the Galleher Corporation to Homero Hardwood; the owner of Homero Hardwood states that he has used this company for years and will continue to do so.
We intend to ""be more careful"" and to have our floors refinished with another company prior to moving from our home in a few years.
Based on the apparent low quality product and the company owner's unhelpful response to our complaints, I would not recommend Homero Hardwood to future customers.
