STEAR CLEAR OF SMIL. WORST BUNCH OF CROOKS AROUND TOWN.
If I could give 1 star, I would.
Here's what happened to me:
I went to SMIL for an MRI.
They told me they'd do it for $1200 and even better, I could do payments.
So I made the first payment and had the MRI done.
Then a couple of weeks later I get a bill in the mail for a total of $1800!
WTF. So I call up and ask what's going on here?
They tell me that the cash payment is for $1200, but the bill shows the insurance amount (I have no insurance).
They say that once the agreed upon amount is paid, that the $600 difference will disappear.
Guess what, they're trying to get me to pay the full $1800.
These guys are running a huge medical scam by overcharging people and then making it impossible to talk to someone who can actually fix the problem.
I had to have a 2nd MRI, well I called around (Doctor rec'd SMIL) and come to find out, a cash pay for an MRI only costs $600-$700!!!
So not only did I overpay for the first MRI by about $500-$600, now they're trying to hit me up for $1800 and if I don't pay, they're threatening to hit my credit and ruin it!
STEAR CLEAR OF SMIL.
WORST BUNCH OF CROOKS AROUND TOWN.
Whatever you need done, call other medical facilities around and get quotes. DON'T TRUST YOUR DOCTOR. He doesn't care what you have to pay and these guys will try and take you to the cleaners.
