A VERBOSE review is about to commence...
[ Background Story ]
Store glasses that finally worked with my face were too expensive... But found glasses on LensesRX that ended up to be half that price (and would've been cheaper had I not forgotten their 20% off coupon! Arg.)
AMAZING SELECTION of frames, glasses, options (including Crizal,) care plans, everything. This was the first time I?d ever bought glasses online ? always went through a store since I was 8.
Price comparison:
$311 for store-bought glasses: consisting of frames (brand = Guess #1554; $150) + lenses (polycarbonate - $150)
$156.80 (at LensesRX) for frames (~$80,) lenses (polycarbonate - $29.95,) anti-glare coating*, scratch resistance*
*About $6 - $7 each? Forgot? but they are cheap!
[ LensesRX ]
My experience was amazing. Excellent service and service plans (free ones and lifetime support etc.) Very smooth online ordering walkthrough. Detailed explanations.
The Guess glasses I chose debuted in their complete array of four colors in LensesRX, compared to the 3 colors in stores. I ended up choosing the color they didn't have in stores, with much gratitude! For all glasses, measurements (in mm) are provided.
Oh!! Please don't forget to check for online coupons for LensesRX. At the time I ordered, there was (and still is?) a summer special - enter in a code for 20% off your order! They come out with more coupons year round, so fear not. I ended up forgetting to use the coupon!! Alas.
[ Shipping ]
VERY FAST. Got glasses 3 business days after I ordered them. Came with free shipping - which comes with domestic orders (within the USA) $75 or higher. This deal seems to be permanent, I think.
LensesRX also gave me free shipment tracking with my glasses!
[ Post-Purchase ]
They were extremely in touch with updating me about my order progress:
+ Aug. 23: (3) e-mails - welcome to LensesRX, order confirmation, detailed receipt
+ Aug. 24: (2) e-mails - preparation in progress announcement, work in progress (with description of each step)
+ Aug. 25: (1) e-mail - glasses shipped! Tracking number included
And on August 29 (there were 3 business days and a weekend in between ordering and arrival) my glasses came! They were in a legitimate Guess case (very solid - a lovely sheen of gold) - in a bubble wrapped envelope. Got a free microfiber cloth too!
